Usually, pet care is not part of the mission of the VSF International network. Our focus is to support small-scale livestock keepers and pastoralists. However, the urgency of the situation deeply affects us and compels us to act in our capacity of veterinarians.
Pets play an important role for the psychological well-being of their owners, especially in this extreme situation. Taking care of pets means to maintain the bond to a life that so many people are forced to leave behind.
